Job summary

Placements24 in East London, Eastern Cape, is seeking a Senior Pharmaceutical Quality Control Analyst to join our laboratory team. You will perform analytical testing on raw materials, intermediates and finished products, ensuring GMP compliance.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's or Master's in Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Sciences with 5–7 years in QC, and is proficient with HPLC, GC, spectrophotometers and dissolution apparatus, plus strong data interpretation and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
• 5–7 years of pharmaceutical QC laboratory experience.
• Experience with HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, and dissolution testing.
• Strong GMP/GLP knowledge and method validation experience.
• Excellent data analysis and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical tests on raw materials, intermediates and finished products using techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis and Karl Fischer titration.
• Develop, validate, and transfer analytical methods per regulatory guidelines.
• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure accurate results.
• Interpret data, document results, and prepare comprehensive reports.
• Investigate OOS and deviations; identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Ensure GMP/GLP and pharmacopoeial compliance and maintain records.
• Participate in audits and assist in training junior QC analysts.
• Stay updated on analytical techniques and QC methodologies.
