About the Role

A prominent mining conglomerate with significant operations near Rustenburg, North West , is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to drive critical initiatives focused on optimizing mining operations. This role is instrumental in enhancing efficiency, safety, and productivity across various mining functions. The successful candidate will manage complex projects involving technology integration, process redesign, and resource management, ensuring seamless execution and measurable improvements. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and closure of projects aimed at improving operational efficiency, cost reduction, and safety in mining environments.
• Develop comprehensive project strategies, defining scope, objectives, deliverables, budgets, and timelines.
• Manage cross-functional teams, including engineers, geologists, and operational staff, to achieve project goals.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with all mining regulations and safety standards.
• Effectively communicate project progress, challenges, and outcomes to senior management and stakeholders.
• Oversee the implementation of new technologies and process improvements within operational settings.
• Manage vendor contracts and ensure the quality of services and equipment procured.
• Conduct thorough post-project analyses to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Foster strong working relationships with site operations teams and other key departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• A Master's degree or PMP certification is advantageous.
• A minimum of 8 years of project management experience, with at least 4 years in the mining or heavy industrial sector.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex operational improvement projects in a mining context.
• Strong understanding of mining processes, safety protocols, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence diverse teams.
• Proficiency in project management software and data analysis tools.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and control project expenditures effectively.
• Experience working in or near Rustenburg or similar mining regions in the North West.
