Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full project lifecycle for operational enhancement projects within the mining environment, from initiation and planning to execution and closure.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resource requirements, and budget allocations.
• Lead and manage cross-functional project teams, ensuring effective collaboration and task delegation.
• Identify, assess, and manage project risks, developing and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Monitor project progress against key performance indicators (KPIs), reporting on status, issues, and resolutions to senior management.
• Ensure strict adherence to all safety, health, and environmental (SHE) regulations specific to mining operations.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and facilitate effective communication channels with all involved parties, including operational staff, engineers, and external contractors.
• Oversee the procurement of necessary equipment, technology, and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
• Drive the implementation of new technologies and process improvements to optimize mining operations.
• Conduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned and ensure continuous improvement.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive project management experience, with a strong emphasis on mining operations or related industrial projects.
• Proven track record of successfully managing projects with significant budgets in the mining sector.
• Deep understanding of mining processes, equipment, and safety protocols.
• Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with operational improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel to mine sites as required, located near Rustenburg, North West .
