About the Role

Our client, a leading developer and operator of energy infrastructure projects, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to join their team in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, ZA. This hybrid role is critical for overseeing the successful execution of large-scale energy projects, from conception through to commissioning and handover. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of project delivery, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in managing complex capital projects within the energy sector, with a deep understanding of project management methodologies, risk management, and contract administration. You will lead multidisciplinary project teams, foster strong relationships with clients and suppliers, and ensure that projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) or a related technical field.
• A Master's degree or an MBA is a plus.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 5 years focused on energy infrastructure projects (e.g., power generation, oil & gas, renewables).
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale capital projects.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI/PMP, PRINCE2).
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in project management software.
• Experience managing diverse project teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site presence with remote work flexibility.
