About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead the execution of complex power infrastructure projects. This role is based in our Pretoria office and requires a dedicated professional with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale energy developments on time and within budget. You will be responsible for all phases of project management, from initiation and planning through to execution, monitoring, control, and closure. This is a critical position for an experienced leader who can navigate intricate project landscapes, manage diverse stakeholder relationships, and drive project success within the demanding energy sector .

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the complete lifecycle of power infrastructure projects, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.
• Develop detailed project plans, define project scope, and establish clear objectives in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, ensuring effective communication and coordination throughout project duration.
• Manage contracts, vendor relationships, and third-party service providers to ensure project deliverables are met to the highest standard.
• Monitor project progress against established milestones, identify potential deviations, and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Ensure all projects comply with relevant safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; PMP certification is highly desirable.
• Over 10 years of progressive experience in project management, specifically within the power generation or transmission and distribution sector.
• Demonstrated success in managing projects with budgets exceeding 50 million ZAR.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, risk assessment, and change control processes.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects in a hands‑on, office-based environment in Pretoria .
