Placements24 is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee construction and development projects in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. You will manage commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments, ensuring timely delivery, budget control, and adherence to quality standards.

Lead multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with clients and authorities, and drive risk management and site inspections across Mpumalanga while maintaining safety compliance and project governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of hands-on project management experience in construction and property development.
• Proven success in managing diverse projects including commercial, residential, and infrastructure works.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and building technologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency with MS Project, AutoCAD, or similar project management software.
• In-depth knowledge of South African building regulations, zoning laws, and safety standards.
• Ability to manage complex budgets and financial reporting.
• Experience in risk management and problem-solving.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to conduct site visits across Mpumalanga.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of construction projects, from initial planning and design through to procurement, execution, and final handover.
• Develop detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans, and monitor their progress closely.
• Lead and motivate project teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and site staff.
• Ensure strict adherence to building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards throughout the construction process.
• Oversee contract administration, including tender processes, negotiation, and management of supplier and contractor agreements.
• Maintain proactive and transparent communication with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities in Mpumalanga.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring minimal disruption and timely resolution of issues.
• Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to ensure project deliverables meet specified requirements.
• Manage project finances, including cost control, invoicing, and payment processing.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes and best practices.
