About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee significant Capital Projects within their organization in Nelspruit . This role is critical for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale investments, ensuring they meet strategic goals, timelines, and budget constraints. You will manage all phases of the project lifecycle, working closely with engineering teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure compliance, safety, and quality. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of capital projects, from feasibility studies and conceptual design through to construction, commissioning, and close-out.
- Develop detailed project plans, scope definitions, budgets, and schedules for major capital investments.
- Oversee contractor selection and management, ensuring performance meets contractual obligations and quality standards.
- Implement robust risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate potential issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, environmental standards, and all relevant building codes and permits.
- Provide regular, comprehensive project status reports and financial updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Civil, Mechanical, Electrical), Construction Management, or a related technical field; Professional registration (e.g., Pr Eng) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project management , with a substantial track record in managing large capital projects .
- Proven experience managing project budgets exceeding R50 million and complex construction schedules.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working on projects in the Nelspruit or broader Mpumalanga region is a significant advantage.
