Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Production Systems Engineer in Mahikeng, North West to enhance efficiency and scalability of production systems. The role requires a strong blend of industrial engineering expertise with hands-on automation experience.

You will analyze current systems, drive improvements, and lead cross-functional projects to reduce costs while maintaining safety and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical engineering or related field.
• 6+ years in production engineering, manufacturing systems or industrial engineering.
• Proven track record in optimizing production lines and reducing costs.
• Strong knowledge of lean tools (5S, Kaizen, VSM) and SPC.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing production systems to identify bottlenecks and opportunities.
• Design, develop, and implement new production systems and technologies including automation upgrades.
• Apply lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methods.
• Create documentation for processes, SOPs, and technical manuals.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with operations, quality, and maintenance for seamless integration.
• Implement data collection and analysis to monitor performance and trends.
• Oversee integration of new equipment meeting performance and safety standards.
• Manage timelines and resources for upgrades and implementations.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and staff.
