Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Production Engineer to enhance production efficiency and maximize hydrocarbon recovery from assets near Durban. You will analyze production data, troubleshoot operational issues, and implement optimization strategies while ensuring safety and environmental compliance.

The role requires proactive problem-solving and collaboration with field operations to sustain and grow production assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in production engineering, with focus on operational support.
• Proven expertise in artificial lift systems (e.g., ESPs, rod pumps, gas lift).
• Solid understanding of production chemistry, wellhead operations, and flow assurance.
• Experience with production data analysis software and production optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with Oil & Gas operations in the Durban region is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze production performance data from fields and wells.
• Identify opportunities for production enhancement and implement relevant technologies or strategies.
• Troubleshoot well performance issues, artificial lift systems, and surface facilities.
• Develop and manage production forecasts and well intervention plans.
• Ensure all production activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to field operations teams and production technicians.
