Placements24 is seeking a Senior Production Engineer to join our client in Soweto, Gauteng. The role focuses on ensuring well integrity and optimizing surface facilities to maximize asset value while maintaining safe operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in wellbore performance, artificial lift, and production facility management, with 8+ years in production engineering, and will collaborate across drilling, reservoir, and facilities teams in the South African context.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of production engineering experience with emphasis on well integrity and facilities.
• Expert in artificial lift design, operation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in well integrity management, risk assessment, and intervention strategies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze well production performance for optimization.
• Oversee well integrity programs including monitoring, testing, intervention planning.
• Design, implement, and optimize artificial lift systems (ESPs, gas lift, rod pumps).
• Troubleshoot issues such as sand production, scale, corrosion, paraffin deposition.
• Analyze and optimize production facility operations (separation, processing, export).
• Develop and manage well workover and intervention programs.
• Collaborate with drilling, reservoir, and facilities engineers for integrated projects.
• Prepare production forecasts, operational reports, and economic analyses.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental standards, and company policies.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
