Placements24 seeks an experienced Senior Product Development Engineer to drive conceptualization, design, prototyping, and testing of new products in Gauteng. You will own development initiatives and collaborate with marketing, design, and manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality market-leading solutions in Benoni.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 6+ years in product development, and strong CAD/FEA skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in product development and mechanical design.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor) and experience with FEA analysis.
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and DFM principles.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the entire product development lifecycle from ideation through to commercialization.
• Design and develop new mechanical components and systems with detailed 3D models and 2D drawings.
• Conduct design validation and testing, including performance, durability, and safety assessments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
• Identify and implement innovative design solutions to meet market demands and customer needs.
• Prepare technical documentation, specifications, and reports for product releases.
