Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred; Bachelor's with substantial relevant experience considered.
• 7+ years of progressive purchasing/procurement experience, with 3+ years in senior/lead capacity.
• Proven success negotiating complex contracts and achieving cost reductions.
• Expertise in vendor management and strategic sourcing methodologies.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced MS Excel.
• Based in or able to commute reliably to George, Western Cape.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of the purchasing process, from requisition to delivery.
• Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to achieve cost savings and improve supplier performance.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with key suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
• Oversee the evaluation and selection of new vendors, ensuring compliance with quality and ethical standards.
• Manage day-to-day supplier relationships, addressing any issues or disputes promptly.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and provide expert guidance.
• Analyze purchasing data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for optimization.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant industry regulations.
• Mentor junior members of the procurement team.
