Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Procurement Specialist for our client, a well-established manufacturing firm, in George, Western Cape. The role focuses on cost-effective procurement of raw materials, components, and services, with emphasis on supplier management, contract negotiation, and process improvement.

You will identify and evaluate suppliers, manage relationships, and ensure procurement activities align with company policies and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in SCM or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in procurement or purchasing.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Experience with ERP and procurement software.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure materials per specs and quality.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, delivery, and service.
• Negotiate pricing and terms to save costs.
• Manage supplier relationships and conduct evaluations.
• Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery.
• Maintain procurement records including contracts and pricing.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and finance.
• Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with policies and ethical procurement.
