Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a skilled Chemical Engineer specializing in process simulation and modeling to optimize plant performance in Mahikeng. The role involves partnering with design and operations engineers to deploy advanced modeling techniques and driving efficiency across chemical processes.
The candidate will work with Aspen Plus, HYSYS, and gPROMS, applying thermodynamics and kinetics to scale up processes from lab to plant, with opportunities for advanced training and a hybrid work
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in process simulation and modeling in the chemical industry.
- Proficiency with Aspen Plus, HYSYS, and gPROMS.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics and kinetics.
- Experience with Python or MATLAB for custom modeling is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, and maintain dynamic and steady-state process models.
- Utilize simulation software to design and optimize chemical processes.
- Perform sensitivity analyses and scenario modeling to assess process variability.
- Support process troubleshooting and debottlenecking using simulation tools.
- Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to scale up new processes from lab to plant.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations detailing simulation results and recommendations.
