Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Process Engineer to optimize chemical manufacturing operations in Klerksdorp. You will design, troubleshoot, and implement improvements across production lines, applying chemical engineering principles to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality in a hybrid work model.

Responsibilities include process design, simulations using Aspen Plus or HYSYS, PSM leadership, and cross-functional support to production teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering within the chemical manufacturing sector.
• Proven experience in process design, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with process simulation software and statistical analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and project management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and scale up chemical processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct process simulations and modeling using Aspen Plus or HYSYS.
• Troubleshoot operational issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions for process improvements.
• Develop and optimize operating procedures and provide technical support to production teams.
• Lead process safety management (PSM) initiatives, including HAZOP studies and risk assessments.
• Manage process improvement projects, from conceptualization through to implementation and validation.
