Placements24 is seeking a Senior Process Safety Engineer to join its oil and gas team in Centurion. The role focuses on ensuring safety across processing facilities through robust PSM systems, hazard analyses, and risk management. The successful candidate will drive PHAs, SIL assessments, and training initiatives.

The role requires seven-plus years in process safety within oil/gas, strong leadership, and cross-functional collaboration, with a hybrid work setup in Centurion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum seven years of experience in process safety within Oil & Gas or petrochemicals.
• Deep knowledge of PHAs (HAZOP/LOPA/FMEA) and SIL assessments.
• Experience implementing and managing PSM programs.
• Familiarity with OSHA PSM, API, NFPA etc.
• Strong analytical, risk assessment, and leadership skills.

Responsabilités

• Lead PHAs (HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA) and risk analyses.
• Develop, implement and manage PSM systems.
• Ensure compliance with national/international process safety standards.
• Perform SIL assessments and verification.
• Review designs for safety enhancements.
• Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Deliver process safety training to engineers and operators.
• Oversee safety-critical equipment management.
• Support emergency response planning.
• Promote safety culture with site operations.
