Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Process Safety Engineer for a Centurion-based role in the Oil & Gas sector. You will lead process safety programs, PHAs, HAZOP/LOPA/FMEA, and drive safety culture across operations.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering, 10+ years in process safety, and strong knowledge of PSM elements (OSHA, EPA RMP). Experience with SIS and IEC 61511 is highly desirable, along with leadership skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related technical discipline.
Minimum of 10 years in process safety engineering within Oil & Gas.
Extensive knowledge of PSM elements (OSHA, EPA RMP).
Proven experience in leading PHAs (HAZOP/LOPA/FMEA).
Strong risk assessment and consequence modelling experience.
Professional certification in process safety desirable.
Familiarity with SIS and IEC 61511.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage process safety management programs.
Lead PHAs including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
Ensure compliance with national and international process safety standards.
Develop and deliver process safety training to personnel.
Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
Oversee management of change for modifications to equipment and procedures.
Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify hazards.
Develop and maintain safety-critical equipment integrity plans.
Mentor and guide junior process safety engineers.
