About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to enhance their upstream operations in Vereeniging . This role focuses on optimizing the design, operation, and efficiency of processing facilities for oil and gas production. You will play a crucial part in ensuring safe, environmentally sound, and economically viable processing solutions. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your chemical or process engineering expertise within the demanding South African Oil & Gas industry , contributing to operational excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, troubleshoot, and optimize process equipment and systems for upstream operations.
• Develop and implement process safety management (PSM) protocols.
• Conduct process simulations and modeling to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company standards.
• Provide technical support and guidance to operations and maintenance teams.
• Participate in the P&ID development and HAZOP studies for new projects and modifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in process engineering , specifically within the Oil & Gas upstream sector .
• Strong knowledge of PFDs, P&IDs, and process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS).
• Experience with process safety principles, including HAZOP and LOPA.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model and travel to sites near Vereeniging .
