Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client seeks a forward-thinking Senior Process Engineer to contribute to their innovative projects within the Oil & Gas industry, operating remotely with occasional travel to Pretoria . This role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing complex chemical and physical processes to ensure maximum efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability. You will be integral in conceptualizing new process designs, troubleshooting existing operations, and implementing advanced technologies to enhance production and reduce operational costs. This is an ideal position for an experienced engineer looking to make a significant impact through remote collaboration and strategic technical input.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for new and existing facilities.
• Conduct process simulations and modeling to analyze performance, identify bottlenecks, and propose improvements.
• Design and specify process equipment, including reactors, separators, heat exchangers, and pumps.
• Perform safety reviews, hazard analyses (HAZOP), and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams, troubleshooting process issues remotely.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and industry best practices to drive innovation in process design and operation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in process engineering, with a strong focus on the Oil & Gas sector.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II) and design tools.
• Solid understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and mass transfer principles.
• Experience with process safety management (PSM) and risk assessment methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills for remote collaboration.
