Placements24 is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join its operations team in Bloemfontein. You will design, optimize, and troubleshoot processes for oil and gas treatment and production facilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant operations across assets.

The role requires a strong technical background, hands-on problem solving, and collaboration with project management and construction teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in process engineering in Oil & Gas.
• Proficiency with process simulation software (HYSYS, Aspen Plus).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize PFDs and P&IDs for oil and gas facilities.
• Perform process simulations and calculations to analyze performance.
• Troubleshoot operations and implement corrective actions for efficiency and safety.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent Senior Process Engineer to join their operations team in Bloemfontein . This role is critical for designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting the processes involved in oil and gas treatment and production facilities. You will ensure that operations are efficient, safe, and environmentally compliant, playing a key part in maintaining the integrity and productivity of the company's assets within the Oil & Gas industry . This position requires strong technical acumen and a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for oil and gas facilities.
• Perform process simulations and calculations to analyze system performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions to enhance efficiency and safety.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
• Collaborate with project management and construction teams during the design and implementation phases of new facilities or upgrades.
• Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP studies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
