Placements24 is seeking a skilled Facilities Engineer to manage and maintain upstream oil and gas production facilities in Vereeniging. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 6+ years of experience in facilities engineering within upstream Oil & Gas.
• Experience with oil/gas processing equipment, P&IDs and PS&M (PSM).
• Maintenance planning and execution experience, preferably CMMS-based.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation and maintenance of production facilities (separators, pumps, compressors, processing units).
• Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to protect asset integrity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to equipment performance and process upsets.
• Participate in design reviews and commissioning of facility modifications and projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental regulations.
• Prepare operational reports, performance analyses, and budget forecasts for facility operations.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Facilities Engineer to manage and maintain upstream oil and gas production facilities in the Vereeniging area. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all production equipment and infrastructure. You will be involved in the design, construction, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of facilities, focusing on optimizing production throughput and minimizing operational risks within the Oil & Gas sector. The successful candidate will work closely with operations, maintenance, and project teams to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of production facilities, including separators, pumps, compressors, and processing units.
• Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to ensure asset integrity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues related to equipment performance and process upsets.
• Participate in the design review and commissioning of new facility modifications and projects.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Prepare operational reports, performance analyses, and budget forecasts for facility operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in facilities engineering within the upstream Oil & Gas industry.
