Placements24 is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join a fully remote team from Soweto, supporting global mineral processing operations. You will design, optimize, and troubleshoot circuits across crushing, grinding, flotation, and leaching, while advancing process simulations and pilot studies.

Ideal candidates hold a master's or PhD in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering with 8+ years of mineral processing experience, and strong skills in METSIM and JKSimFloat, data analysis, and remote

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mineral processing and process engineering.
• Expertise in process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, JKSimFloat) and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of comminution, solid-liquid separation, and hydrometallurgical processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and optimize mineral processing circuits, including crushing, grinding, flotation, and leaching processes.
• Develop process simulations and models to predict performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and provide expert technical support to plant teams.
• Conduct pilot plant studies and laboratory test work to evaluate new technologies and process modifications.
• Ensure process designs meet stringent environmental and safety standards.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, process flow diagrams, and equipment specifications.
