Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Remote Process Engineer in the mining sector to optimize mineral processing operations. This fully remote role analyzes plant data, identifies efficiency gains, and guides technology implementation with on-site teams.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering and at least six years in mining process engineering, plus proficiency with process simulation tools.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering.
• Six years of experience in mining process engineering.
• Proficiency with process simulation tools (e.g., HSC Chemistry, SysCAD).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, kinetics and unit operations in mineral processing.
• Excellent analytical and remote communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze process data to monitor plant performance and identify bottlenecks.
• Develop and optimize metallurgical processes (comminution, flotation, leaching, solid–liquid separation).
• Troubleshoot operational challenges and provide remote technical support.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for upgrades or new technologies.
• Collaborate with R&D on pilot testing and scale-up activities.
• Prepare technical reports, process flow diagrams, and operational guidelines.
