Placements24 seeks a Senior Process Engineer to join our client in Richards Bay, a leader in the petrochemical energy sector. You will design, analyze, and improve complex chemical and energy processing systems to optimize plant performance and safety.

The role requires extensive experience in process simulation (Aspen Plus, HYSYS), PSM and HAZOP studies, and strong collaboration with operations and maintenance teams to drive reliability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years in process engineering in petrochemical/energy.
• Proficiency with process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and CAD tools.
• Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes and equipment.
• Run detailed process simulations to boost efficiency and safety.
• Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and implement fixes.
• Develop and implement Process Safety Management protocols.
• Prepare PFDs and P&IDs.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
