Placements24 is assisting a client in Paarl, Western Cape, by seeking a Senior Chemical Process Engineer for New Product Introduction. You will translate lab discoveries into robust, scalable manufacturing processes, lead development, scale-up, validation, and seamless integration into production in a hybrid work setting.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Chemical Engineering with 7+ years of process engineering experience, lab-scale development, pilot plants, and technology

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in chemical process engineering with emphasis on new product introduction and scale-up.
• Experience in lab-scale development, pilot plant operations and technology transfer.
• Proficiency in process simulation and modeling software.
• Strong understanding of reaction kinetics, thermodynamics and separation processes.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and project management skills.
• Effective communication and ability to work across diverse teams.
• Familiarity with GMP or similar quality systems is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Lead process development and scale-up for new chemical products from R&D to commercial manufacturing.
• Design and execute pilot plant trials, analyze data, and develop robust operating procedures.
• Perform process modeling and simulation to predict performance and identify scale-up challenges.
• Develop PHAs and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with R&D chemists, formulation scientists, and manufacturing teams for successful launches.
• Specify and select process equipment for new product lines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve process issues during scale-up and initial production runs.
• Author and review technical reports, validation protocols, and batch records.
