Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in process development, design and scale-up in the chemical manufacturing industry.
• Experience with process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
• Strong understanding of unit operations, reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and separation processes.
• Demonstrated experience in PHAs and implementing safety measures.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis and statistical process control (SPC).
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and optimization of chemical processes from conceptualization through pilot plant and commercial scale-up.
• Conduct rigorous PHAs and implement safety protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Design and execute experiments to evaluate process parameters, identify critical control points, and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Develop mass and energy balances, PFDs and P&IDs for new and existing processes.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure successful technology transfer and implementation.
• Analyze process data to identify areas for improvement in yield, efficiency, cost reduction, and environmental impact.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on process design and optimization challenges.
