Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Process Engineer for our Polokwane site. You will lead manufacturing excellence initiatives, drive continuous improvement, and optimize production processes to improve quality and efficiency.

You will apply Lean Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, and process simulation to identify opportunities, mentor teams, and scale improvements across operations in a collaborative, results‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years in process engineering within manufacturing with a focus on operational excellence.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent certification is required.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams on complex improvement projects.
• Expertise in SPC, DOE, and process simulation tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and validation of process improvements.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma to reduce waste, improve throughput and quality.
• Analyze production data, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and work instructions.
• Oversee pilot runs and scale-up of new processes.
• Mentor junior engineers and production staff in process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and validation of process improvements for manufacturing operations.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste, improve throughput, and enhance product quality.
• Conduct detailed analysis of production data, identify root causes of issues, and develop effective corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
• Oversee pilot runs and ensure successful scale-up of new or improved manufacturing processes.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and production personnel in process improvement techniques.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering , Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on operational excellence .
• Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent experience is required.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive complex improvement projects to completion.
• Expertise in statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE), and process simulation tools.
