Our client is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their dynamic team in Pretoria . This role is critical for driving innovation, efficiency, and quality across all manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing systems, troubleshooting complex production issues, and implementing new technologies to enhance operational performance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering foundation, a proven track record in process improvement, and the ability to mentor junior engineers, contributing to the company's position as an industry leader in technological advancement and operational excellence.
Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes and production systems to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality. Lead projects related to new product introductions, process automation, and equipment upgrades. Troubleshoot and resolve complex manufacturing issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective long-term solutions. Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including process flow charts, work instructions, and standard operating procedures. Collaborate with R&D, quality, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of new designs and processes into production. Mentor and guide junior manufacturing engineers, fostering their technical development and contribution to the team.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering within a relevant industry. Extensive knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and process optimization techniques. Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and simulation tools. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills. Experience with automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies is highly desirable.
