Job summary

Placements24 seeks an Electrical Power Engineer to join our Mahikeng team. You will design and analyze power systems for large-scale projects, performing load flow, short circuit, and stability studies while developing equipment specifications.

You will supervise installation and commissioning, ensuring compliance with codes and safety, and collaborating with managers, clients, and stakeholders to deliver successful projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in the electrical power industry.
• Proficiency in power system analysis software (PSS/E, ETAP, PowerWorld).
• Strong understanding of power generation, transmission, distribution and protection principles.
• Experience with substation design and protection relay settings is highly valued.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze electrical power systems, including transmission and distribution networks.
• Perform load flow, short circuit, and stability studies using power system analysis software.
• Develop specifications for power system equipment, such as transformers, switchgear, and generators.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of power system components and infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with national and international electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
