Job summary
Placements24 is seeking an experienced Power Systems Engineer specializing in Grid Integration to join our client’s team in Polokwane. You will conduct detailed grid studies, develop connection agreements, and ensure compliance with grid codes and regulatory requirements.
The role requires a BEng in Electrical Engineering with power systems specialization and at least 7 years of experience in power system analysis, along with proficiency in PSS/E, ETAP or PowerFactory.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with power systems specialization.
- 7+ years of experience in power system analysis and grid integration.
- Experience with regulatory bodies and utility stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Conduct grid interconnection studies (load flow, short circuit, stability).
- Develop specs for grid connection equipment and infrastructure.
- Review interconnection applications from IPPs.
- Ensure compliance with grid codes and regulatory frameworks.
- Collaborate with utilities and developers on grid integration projects.
- Provide expert technical advice on planning and operation.
- Assist in developing grid integration strategies.
