Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Power Systems Electrical Engineer for a fully remote position. You will design, analyze, and implement robust power systems, working with a globally dispersed team to ensure reliability and safety across energy infrastructure.

Responsibilities include load-flow and stability studies, developing protection schemes, and overseeing commissioning of installations, while contributing to long-term planning and asset management strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Systems.
• Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in the electrical power industry.
• Proficiency with power system analysis software such as PSS/E, ETAP, or PSCAD.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, and develop specifications for electrical power systems, including generation, transmission, and distribution infrastructure.
• Perform load flow, short circuit, and stability studies using specialized software to ensure system integrity and performance.
• Develop protection schemes and relay settings to safeguard power system equipment and personnel.
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, managing remote communications effectively.
• Oversee the commissioning and testing of new power system installations and equipment.
• Contribute to the development of long-term power system planning and asset management strategies.
