Placements24 is seeking a skilled Power Systems Analyst to join the operations team in Rustenburg, North West. This on-site role focuses on stability, reliability, and efficiency of the region's power infrastructure, analyzing grids, forecasting demand, and developing energy-flow strategies.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) with 6+ years of experience, proficient in PSS/E, ETAP or DIgSILENT PowerFactory, and strong communication and teamwork.

Formación

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in power system analysis, operations, or planning in an electric utility or consulting firm.
• Proficiency in power system simulation software such as PSS/E, ETAP, or DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
• Solid understanding of power system dynamics, transient stability, and protection schemes.
• Experience with load forecasting techniques and generation dispatch optimization.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct detailed analysis of power system performance, including load flow, stability, and fault studies.
• Develop and maintain power system models using PSS/E, ETAP, or DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
• Forecast electricity demand and generation capacity to ensure grid balance.
• Identify potential system vulnerabilities and propose mitigation strategies.
• Contribute to the planning and expansion of the power grid infrastructure.
• Monitor real-time grid operations and respond to disturbances or emergencies.
• Collaborate with engineers on the design and implementation of new power system assets.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to management and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for power systems.
• Support the integration of new energy sources into the existing grid.
