Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Construction Project Manager for major port infrastructure projects in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will oversee planning, execution, and completion of multi-million Rand initiatives, ensuring on-time delivery, budget compliance, and top safety and quality standards.

The role requires leadership, strategic thinking, and deep expertise in marine construction. You will manage site preparation, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Master's degree is an advantage.
• 10+ years in construction PM, large-scale infra, marine/port preferred.
• Experience with multi-million Rand budgets.
• Proficient in MS Project or Primavera P6.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation skills.
• Good HSEQ knowledge.
• Experience in Richards Bay is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project plans with scope, budgets, timelines, and resources.
• Oversee all construction phases from procurement to closeout.
• Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, suppliers, and regulators.
• Ensure compliance with HSEQ standards throughout the lifecycle.
• Monitor progress, manage risks and mitigation.
• Manage project finances, budgeting and reporting.
• Lead project teams and foster collaboration.
• Conduct site inspections and progress meetings.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors.
