Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Project Manager for commercial & industrial construction based in Pretoria, Gauteng. You will lead complex projects from planning through handover, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence and high quality while coordinating with site staff, subcontractors, and consultants.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in construction project management, familiarity with JBCC/NEC/FIDIC contracts, and strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline; Master's degree or PMP is a significant advantage.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project management within the construction industry, focused on commercial/industrial projects.
• Proven track record managing budgets over R100 million and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of JBCC, NEC, and FIDIC contracts and procurement processes.
• Proficiency with project management software such as MS Project or Primavera P6.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the project lifecycle from initiation to handover, including planning, design coordination, procurement, execution and closeout.
• Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Lead and motivate project teams, including site staff, subcontractors, and consultants.
• Manage client relationships with clear communication and alignment to project objectives.
• Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental protocols on all project sites.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement proactive solutions.
