Placements24 seeks a Senior Pharmaceutical Business Development Manager for our Upington office. You will drive growth by identifying opportunities, negotiating deals, and shaping partnerships across the pharmaceutical sector.

You will analyze markets, evaluate acquisitions or licensing options, and collaborate with R&D and Commercial teams to support strategic decisions. This role demands a strong track record in pharma business development and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field such as Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business, or Finance.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in business development, corporate strategy, or related roles within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
Proven track record of identifying, negotiating, and closing significant business deals.

Responsibilities

Identify, evaluate, and pursue strategic BD opportunities including licensing, partnerships, mergers and acquisitions.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and unmet needs.
Develop and execute BD strategies aligned with long-term goals.
Lead negotiations for complex agreements with favorable terms.
Build and maintain relationships with partners, investors, and key stakeholders.
Collaborate with internal teams to assess feasibility and potential of opportunities.
Prepare business cases, financial models, and presentations for senior management.
Stay updated on scientific advances, therapeutic areas, and industry trends.
Represent the company at industry conferences and events.
Manage due diligence for potential transactions.
