The role requires a strong petrochemical background, hands-on process design and simulation proficiency, and a track record of delivering data-driven improvements.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering required.
• 8+ years progressive process chemistry experience in petrochemicals.
• Strong expertise in process design, optimisation and scale-up.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
• Knowledge of hazard analysis (HAZOP) and risk assessment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor chemical processes to ensure optimal yield and purity.
• Conduct rigorous research and development for new product formulations and process enhancements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues related to chemical reactions, separation techniques, and equipment.
• Lead and mentor junior chemical engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance.
• Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations, maintaining comprehensive documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality control, to achieve project goals.
• Analyse process data, identify trends, and recommend data-driven improvements.
• Manage project timelines and budgets effectively for assigned chemical engineering projects.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in chemical engineering and relevant technologies.
