Job summary

Placements24 invites a Senior Pavement Engineer to Bloemfontein to lead design and evaluation of pavement systems for roads, highways, and airfields. You will guide projects, mentor junior staff, and implement durable pavement solutions across the Free State using latest materials and design methods.

The role requires a BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering (Pavement specialization), 8+ years' experience, and proficiency with KenPAVE and EVERCALC, with site visits and client liaison in a hybrid work

Qualifications

• BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering with Pavement Specialization.
• Minimum 8 years' experience in pavement design and analysis.
• Pr.Eng registration or ECSA eligibility preferred.
• Proficient in pavement design software and PMS/LCCA.
• Strong communication and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and rehabilitation of flexible and rigid pavements.
• Conduct pavement surveys, material testing, and forensic investigations.
• Develop design models and perform analysis with KenPAVE/EVERCALC.
• Prepare detailed reports, specs, and construction docs.
• Oversee on-site construction and QC.
• Liaise with clients, authorities and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Stay updated on pavement tech and innovations.
• Contribute to R&D in pavement engineering.
