Placements24 is seeking a Senior Roads Engineer to lead the design and management of complex road and highway projects from concept to construction supervision in Sandton, Gauteng. Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering with Transportation/Roads focus.
• Professional registration as a Pr Eng with ECSA is essential.
• Minimum 9 years of progressive experience in roads and highway design and project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of road and highway projects including interchanges and urban/rural roads.
• Conduct feasibility studies, traffic impact assessments, and route selection studies.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and tender docs for road construction.
• Manage project teams, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely delivery.
• Liaise with clients and authorities (e.g., SANRAL) and stakeholders throughout the lifecycle.
• Mentor junior engineers and design staff.
• Ensure compliance with road design standards, SANRAL standards, and environmental regs.
• Oversee construction supervision and ensure quality and adherence to specs.
• Perform road safety audits and recommend improvements.
• Stay updated on road engineering technologies and practices.
