Placements24 is seeking a Senior Data Scientist specialized in NLP to join our team in Richards Bay. You will build and deploy advanced NLP models, analyze large text datasets, and translate insights into product and business decisions.

You will collaborate with product and engineering teams, stay current with NLP research, and apply state-of-the-art techniques to real-world challenges, driving impact across the organization.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Computational Linguistics, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, with a significant focus on NLP.
• Proficiency in Python and libraries such as NLTK, spaCy, Transformers, scikit-learn.
• Solid understanding of deep learning architectures for NLP (e.g., RNNs, LSTMs, Transformers).
• Experience with data processing, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques for text data.
• Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy advanced NLP models for tasks such as sentiment analysis, topic modeling, text classification, and named entity recognition.
• Clean, preprocess, and analyze large volumes of unstructured text data.
• Design and implement machine learning experiments to evaluate model performance and identify improvements.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to integrate NLP solutions into user-facing applications and internal tools.
• Communicate complex findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Stay current with the latest research and advancements in NLP and AI.
