Job summary

Placements24 seeks an NLP Engineer to lead development of language models and applications in Upington. You will design, implement, and deploy NLP solutions that enhance conversational AI, text analysis, and automated text processing.

The role involves collaborating with data scientists and software engineers to integrate NLP components into products, while staying current with new NLP research and techniques. A strong ML foundation and hands-on Python experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, AI, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Natural Language Processing engineering.
• Proficiency in Python and NLP libraries such as NLTK, spaCy, Transformers, or similar.
• Strong understanding of machine learning, deep learning, and statistical methods applied to NLP.
• Experience with text data preprocessing, feature extraction, and model evaluation.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and big data technologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement NLP models for text classification, sentiment analysis, NER, and translation.
• Build and optimize language understanding and generation systems.
• Process and analyze large volumes of text data to extract meaningful information.
• Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to integrate NLP solutions into products and services.
