Job summary

Placements24 in Soweto is seeking a skilled NLP Specialist to join a hybrid team. You will develop and implement NLP models to enable machines to understand and process human language, spanning text analysis, sentiment analysis, chatbots, and translation.

Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to deploy NLP features across products, staying at the forefront of research while delivering practical, scalable solutions in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in CS, computational linguistics, or related field.
• At least 2 years of NLP experience.
• Proficiency with Python and NLP libraries (NLTK, spaCy, Transformers).
• Experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Strong understanding of linguistic principles and text preprocessing.
• Experience with large language models (LLMs) is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, train, and fine-tune NLP models for text classification, named entity recognition, and question answering.
• Implement advanced NLP techniques, including Transformers and LSTMs.
