Placements24 is seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer for our client in Vereeniging, Gauteng. You will design, implement, and maintain robust security infrastructure to safeguard data and systems, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and WAFs.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of network security experience, strong TCP/IP knowledge, and hands-on firewall experience (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet). Certifications such as CISSP or CCNA/CCNP Security are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security or related field.
• 6+ years in network security engineering.
• Experience with IDS/IPS and SIEM solutions.
• Certifications such as CISSP or CCNP/CCNA Security preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage network security solutions, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and WAFs.
• Monitor network traffic for security threats and anomalies.
• Implement and maintain security policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans.
• Respond to security incidents, perform forensic analysis, and implement remediation plans.
• Configure and manage secure network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
• Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with IT operations and development teams to integrate security into all aspects of the infrastructure.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security staff.
• Develop and maintain network security documentation.
