Placements24 is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for a major mining support facility in Upington, Northern Cape. The role oversees all operational aspects, drives safety compliance, and optimizes resource allocation to meet client expectations in a demanding sector.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years in operations management within mining/heavy industry, strong leadership and budgeting skills, and a proven ability to manage diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in operations management, with significant mining/heavy industry experience.
• Proven ability to manage complex operational environments and diverse teams.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in mining.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations related to mining support services.
• Ensure safe and efficient delivery of services to mining clients in the Northern Cape.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Lead and develop a team of operational staff with a focus on safety and performance.
• Enforce strict HSE policies in line with mining industry standards.
• Manage operational budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee maintenance of equipment and resources for service delivery.
• Build strong relationships with mining clients and ensure satisfaction.
• Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and adoption of new technologies.
