Placements24 is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee mining operations near Polokwane. The role focuses on safe, efficient production, maintenance, and leadership of a diverse team in a demanding environment.

You will develop plans and budgets, drive continuous improvement, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor supervisors to achieve production targets while safeguarding people and the environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mine operations management.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale mining operations and diverse teams.
• Strong understanding of open-pit or underground mining methods, equipment and maintenance.
• Excellent leadership, communication and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all day-to-day mining operations, including drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, and processing.
• Develop and implement operational plans, budgets, and performance metrics.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and policies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mining professionals and supervisors.
• Optimize production processes, identify cost-saving opportunities, and drive efficiency improvements.
