Placements24 in Pretoria is seeking a Mineral Processing Engineer to lead design and optimization of crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching, and smelting circuits, aiming to maximise recovery and minimise costs.

You will run test work and pilot studies, troubleshoot upsets, monitor KPIs, and work with metallurgists and operators to meet production targets. This role emphasizes safety, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of mineral processing plant operations and design experience.
Strong understanding of comminution, separation, and recovery technologies.

Responsibilities

Design, operate, and optimize mineral processing circuits, including crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching, and smelting.
Conduct test work and pilot plant studies to evaluate new process technologies and improve existing operations.
Troubleshoot process upsets, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to ensure efficient production.
Monitor KPIs and develop strategies for improving mineral recovery and grade.
Collaborate with metallurgists, geologists, and plant operators to achieve production targets.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations within the processing plant.
