Placements24 is seeking an experienced Metallurgical Process Engineer to optimize and troubleshoot operations at a facility near Mossel Bay. You will lead process design, pilot plant studies, and the implementation of improvements to boost recovery and efficiency.

The role requires a strong background in flotation, leaching, gravity separation, and data-driven SPC, with hands-on experience in mineral processing and process simulation tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in metallurgical process design, operation and optimization in mining.
• Strong knowledge of flotation, leaching, and gravity separation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize metallurgical processes for mineral concentration and extraction.
• Conduct pilot plant studies and laboratory test work to evaluate process performance and new technologies.
• Monitor KPIs of operational equipment and processes, identifying areas for improvement.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement effective solutions to maximize recovery.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure safe plant operation.
