Job summary

Placements24 in Bloemfontein seeks a Senior Process Engineer to optimize mineral processing operations, improve throughput and recovery, and ensure product quality. You will analyze performance, model processes, and implement control strategies on-site with plant personnel.

The role requires a strong background in chemical/metallurgical processing, 7+ years of experience, and proficiency in METSIM or JKSimMet. Collaboration and safety/regulatory adherence are key to success.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in mineral processing and metallurgy.
Proven experience with crushing, grinding, flotation and leaching.
Proficiency in process simulation software METSIM or JKSimMet.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for teamwork.

Responsibilities

Analyze and optimize mineral processing plant operations, including comminution, flotation, and leaching circuits.
Conduct process simulation and modeling to identify improvements and test strategies.
Develop and implement process control strategies to maximize recovery and product quality.
Troubleshoot operational issues and provide technical support to plant personnel.
Lead or participate in process improvement projects, feasibility studies, and equipment evaluations.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
