Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Mineral Processing Engineer to manage and optimize the processing plant operations in Vereeniging. You will oversee crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching, and refining to improve performance, reduce costs, and ensure safety.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in metallurgical/chemical/mining engineering with processing specialization and at least 5 years' experience in mineral processing or extractive metallurgy, with strong data analysis skills and knowledge of

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical, Chemical, or Mining Engineering with processing specialization.
Minimum of 5 years of mineral processing or extractive metallurgy experience.
Strong knowledge of comminution, solid-liquid separation, and chemical extraction.
Experience with process control systems and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day operations of the mineral processing plant across crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching, and refining.
Monitor process indicators and analyze data to improve recovery, grade and throughput.
Troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Conduct pilot plant tests and laboratory analyses to evaluate new processes.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
