Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Metallurgical Engineer to optimize mineral processing operations near Sandton. You will design, implement, and troubleshoot comminution, flotation, and other circuits to maximize recovery and product quality.

You will also lead pilot plant and lab testing, develop control strategies, analyze performance data, and collaborate with operations to improve efficiency. Strong communication and team collaboration are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in mineral processing with plant operations focus.
• Expertise in comminution, flotation, gravity separation and hydrometallurgy.
• Proficient in process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
• Excellent communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, optimize, and troubleshoot mineral processing circuits including crushing, grinding, flotation and leaching.
• Conduct pilot plant and lab tests to evaluate new technologies and improve existing ones.
• Develop process control strategies for optimal operating conditions and product quality.
• Analyze plant performance data and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance to ensure efficient plant operation.
• Prepare technical reports, flow diagrams, and operating manuals.
• Stay updated on latest advancements in metallurgical engineering.
