Placements24 is seeking an adept Process Engineer specializing in metallurgy for our client near Vereeniging. The role focuses on optimizing metallurgical processes to maximize metal recovery, improve efficiency, and ensure consistent product quality in mining and minerals processing.
A strong background in mineral processing, hydrometallurgy, or pyrometallurgy and proven ability to apply chemical engineering principles is required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mineral processing or extractive metallurgy within the mining industry.
- Experience with flotation, leaching, smelting, or refining; pilot plant and lab testing; process modeling.
Responsibilities
- Optimize metallurgical process parameters to maximize metal recovery and concentrate grade.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and implement solutions to improve plant performance.
- Conduct pilot plant trials and laboratory test work to evaluate new processes or reagents.
- Develop and maintain process models and mass/element balances.
- Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and recommendations for process improvements.
- Ensure process operations comply with safety and environmental regulations.
